Viktor Tisbizov is the head coach and cofounder of Tsibizov Team, later METHOD. He is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Augusto Frota, founder of Frota Academy and a 4th degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt.

Viktor started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the fall of 2012 in Guangzhou, China. Exposure to MMA piqued his interest in ground fighting. Once he started Jiu-Jitsu, he was hooked and jumped right into his first competition only two weeks into training. Since 2013, Viktor has competed over 30 times in Gi, No Gi, MMA. By 2015, he was coaching Jiu-Jitsu full time in China as a purple belt while developing his own style of Jiu-Jitsu – a fusion of strong old school basics with new school techniques.

Viktor has medaled in many national and international tournaments, receiving his black belt in May 2021.

At METHOD, he teaches all classes at his academy – from introductory level to advanced, to competition level preparation – his teaching style is all about the details and helping students carve their own way. From brown belt onward, he’s taught a lot of seminars that explore his unique style of passing and «Lasso guard». Currently, he is developing a program around «Tarantula guard».

‘If you want to get to know someone, one of the best ways is by bringing them into Jiu-Jitsu. BJJ has a way of casting a light on our true personalities; that is the main reason why I love it,’ he said.
